Q: How did you become an English teacher?
A: "I wanted to be a teacher from the time I was a child because I loved to learn, so I got my undergraduate degree in English, then I started to work for a high school. While teaching high school I started my graduate program at UTSA. After I got my Master's degree from UTSA, got an invitation from UTSA to teach for the institution."
Q: What advice can you give to future English teachers?
A: "Have a broad base of experience, because you can bring that experience into the classroom that will help you relate to the students. Get experience in other fields that you like to ensure that teaching is the right field for you."
Q: What trends do you see emerging in your career?
A: "I think the field of Higher Education is moving towards experiential learning, which means taking what we teach in the classroom and applying it to practical examples, giving students real experience."
